Introducing ClearQuote “Delta”

We are excited to announce the release of “ClearQuote Delta” feature enabling fleet managers to accurately compare the condition of a vehicle between any two points in time and find the “Delta”.

Delta automatically compares the condition of a vehicle between any two different inspections of that vehicle and highlights new damages that have occurred during the intervening period.

Fleet managers using ClearQuote app for inspecting their vehicles can now view the history of inspections of each vehicle. They can see if each inspection has resulted in identification of any new damages. With Delta functionality, Fleet managers can pick any two dates or inspections and see what has happened to the vehicle during this period.

Poor damage tracking = Higher costs

Commercial fleet operators opt for short/medium term leases or rentals to augment their fleet during peak season. Also vehicles may also be allocated to different drivers for varying periods of time.

  • There is no easy way to inspect and track the differences in the condition of the vehicle between any two handovers (e.g. between onhire and offhire/defleet, between handover to driver A and return from driver A).
  • The result of poor tracking results in significant (unreported) damage and either vehicle downtime and/or repair costs
  • The fleet operator also gets a hefty charge from the hire company at the end of lease and in most cases no evidence to pushback on these charges
  • It’s not very easy to calculate repair costs if the fleet manager wants to recharge the user

The Delta feature

Fleet managers using ClearQuote app for inspecting their vehicles can now view the history of inspections of each vehicle. Each inspection of the vehicle can be assigned a type (onhire, offhire, etc.). Alongside they can see if each inspection has resulted in identification of any new damages vs the previous known condition of the vehicle.

With Delta functionality, users can select any two inspections and instantly see the difference (or “delta”) between the two states of the vehicle.

  • In a few clicks a fleet manager can view which “New” damages have been sustained on the vehicle between any two inspections - along with relevant images. Pre-existing damages are shown separately.
  • The Delta report can be easily shared with relevant parties (hire company, drivers, etc.) with all the relevant details and images
  • This reduces admin effort, makes recharges very transparent and reduces chances of disputes
  • Additionally, making handovers transparent incentivises better driving behaviour and lowers damage incidents
