The Ford E-Transit Custom is getting an upgraded battery, boosting range to 231 miles. The new 71kWh battery pack replaces the existing 65kWh unit and will be fitted to models built from early 2026. With the smaller battery, the E-Transit Custom has an official range of 209 miles.
The existing 136PS, 217PS and 285PS motor options remain available, alongside new dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions.
E-Transit Custom vans built from early 2026, featuring the new battery, can complete a 10%-80% charge using a 125kW DC fast charger in around 29 minutes. That’s a 10-minute saving compared to before and means drivers can add around 69 miles of range in 10 minutes.
Ford is also providing DC fast charging upgrades for existing E-Transit Custom vans already on the road via an over-the-air software update. The 10%-80% per cent charge time for the 65kWh battery pack is reduced by around 14 minutes, bringing it down to about 25 minutes.
The E-Transit Custom is offered in van, double-cab-in-van, kombi, and multicab versions with a towing capacity of up to 2,300Kg.
