Wholesale potato merchant Robert Wellock & Son has continued its decades-long relationship with Isuzu, taking delivery of two new N35.125 Grafters from Warrington Vehicle Centre, which has been supplying new vehicles from the manufacturer into the business for more than six years.
The new 3.5-tonners replace two identical spec older vehicles in the company’s six-strong 100 per cent Isuzu Grafter fleet. Each is mounted with a custom insulated aluminium curtainside body from Fosters Commercials, featuring a compact GAH refrigeration unit to help maintain product quality.
Robert Wellock, owner, said: “The Isuzu Grafter has been a perfect fit for our business for years – it’s strong, reliable and easily manoeuvrable. The flat-front cab helps our drivers navigate the narrow lanes and tight car parks, while the lightweight chassis allows us to fit our preferred body spec and still achieve the payload we need.”
A family-run business, Robert Wellock & Sons supplies fresh potatoes to pubs and restaurants across the north of England, operating daily multi-drop delivery routes which fully utilises the Grafter’s ability to carry up to four pallets of specially prepared and pre-packed potatoes.
