The next application round of the government’s Depot Charging Scheme is expected to open this week – on Wednesday 28 October – and run until 29 January 2027. It will support charging projects beginning from April 2027 and completed by 31 March 2028.
Eligible organisations must operate a UK fleet and own or lease at least one depot. The government says £38 million is allocated to this second window, although the final grant rate and detailed terms have not yet been confirmed.
The Depot Charging Scheme supports uptake of zero-emission HGVs, vans and coaches by part-funding the installation of charging infrastructure at fleet depots. The first application window ran from 25 March 2026 to 30 June 2026, funding 70% of charge point and civil costs, up to £1 million across all sites.
