Scania launches online used truck sales

Scania UK launches 'Scania Go', an online sales platform for used vehicles, enhancing customer control and digital purchase options.

Technology

Scania UK has launched a new sales platform allowing customers to buy a used Scania online for the first time. The truck manufacturer completely revamped its approach to used truck marketing under the ‘Scania Go’ banner while second-hand stock was in short supply in 2022.

The new platform forms a crucial part of the Scania Go used vehicle programme. Customers will have a wide choice of used vehicles to choose from across the different Scania Go grading bands. Information will include detailed specifications, pictures and the ability to get an indicative finance price too.

Mark Bridgland, UK sales director for Scania UK, said:

When we launched Scania Go two years ago, our approved used vehicle programme was industry-leading and this is the next step in making sure it remains at the forefront of our industry. Not only will our customers love the outstanding quality of their latest Scania purchase, but now they can buy how, when and where they want. By using Scania Go, we are putting our customers back in control, to choose their perfect vehicle the way they want.

Jay Sadier, digitalisation and IT director at Scania UK, said the launch marked a “momentous occasion” for the sector as it takes the first step to digitalising the buying journey.

We’ve seen over the last 20 years fast moving consumer goods, travel, groceries and restaurants all move to a fully online transactional experience and in recent times buying and selling new and used cars online has become more prevalent and commonplace,

he added.

This is the next step for our industry and we’re proud to be driving the shift towards a new way of buying and selling trucks, buses and coaches.

Alongside the ability to buy Scania approved vehicles online, the Scania Go programme has also been updated. It will now see Scania ‘retail ready’ vehicles join the premium approved used vehicle programme, which now sees the grading levels increase from three to four.
