Bradford-based CT Glass has turned to Volvo Trucks for the first time, acquiring two FM 380 6x2 rear-steer rigid curtain siders.
The new rigids’ 380hp powertrains are paired with Volvo’s 12-speed I-Shift automated gearbox, which evaluates information about weight, speed, torque demand and road grade to perform every single shift with precision.
Spacious Globetrotter cabs have each been fitted with several creature comforts, including leather upholstery, an electrically-operated roof hatch with tinted glass and a microwave.
To boost manoeuvrability, CT Glass has opted to spec both Volvo FM rigids with hydraulically steered rear tag axles, ideally suited to the typical delivery locations the trucks will face.
Expected to remain on the fleet for at least five years, the trucks will predominantly operate Monday through Friday, each completing four to five deliveries per day while clocking up to 80,000km annually.
The new additions are backed by a five-year Volvo Gold Contract, which includes preventive maintenance and repairs to guarantee CT Glass the most comprehensive and personal service, offering total peace of mind.
