Five new Iveco eDaily 7.2-tonne curtainside vehicles have been added to the Agrii fleet to help reduce its carbon emissions.
The Agrii eDaily vehicles each feature four modular batteries – totalling 148kWh – delivering a maximum range of up to 248 miles. Mounted on the roof of the body, all the vans have been fitted with ultra-thin, flexible, shatterproof Trailar solar panels to supplement the onboard batteries. The panels produce up to 500kWh annually – the equivalent of more than three full charges.
The vehicles were supplied by South West Truck and Van on a seven-year repair and maintenance contract, as well as Iveco’s eDaily battery warranty, covering 155,000km and promising to retain at least 80% of the original battery capacity after eight years.
Richard Pinnock, national distribution manager at Agrii, said: “Agrii has a CO2 reduction target on its distribution fleet of 36.7% by 2032. The new eDailys will remove 83 tonnes of CO2 per annum, which represents 10% of this target. We’re making good progress.”
Mike Cutts, business line director full range UK and ROI at Iveco UK, added: “Since its launch in 2022, our eDaily offering has gone from strength to strength, with an ever-increasing number of operators proving that their missions can be all-electric.”
