Lightfoot has offset carbon emissions of every one of the 13,000 attendees at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show, showcasing the future for sustainable events.

The fleet technology specialist installed interactive carbon footprint calculators that allowed visitors to input their journey details for the three-day exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC, including distance travelled and vehicle type.

From this data, Lightfoot calculated an average of 17.7kg of CO2 per person, totalling more than 230 tonnes of carbon emissions across the show.

“Decarbonisation is the ambition of nearly every commercial vehicle fleet operator we speak to,” said Paul Hollick, chief executive at the tech firm. “We support fleets through electrification, improved driving efficiency and offsetting. Working with the CV Show organisers demonstrates how collaborative efforts can lead the commercial vehicle sector toward a net zero future.”

Nick Davison, event director at the CV Show, echoed the sentiment: “Our partnership with Lightfoot reinforces our commitment to sustainability, not just for the event, but across the industry. Next year’s CV Show will focus even more heavily on decarbonisation and smart solutions to help fleets limit their environmental impact.”
