The Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo is 2025’s most leased light commercial vehicle (LCV) for Select Van Leasing. The ID. Buzz Cargo overtook the Ford Ranger, which went from first to second place in 2025, likely due to the taxation changes on double-cab pick-up trucks.
Three electric vans were among the most popular LCV models leased by Select Van Leasing in 2025. In third place was the Ford Transit Custom, followed by the Citroën Berlingo, Volkswagen e-Transporter and Nissan Townstar Electric.
Sam Bryan, LCV and re-lease manager at Select Van Leasing, said: “For the first time, our most popular van of the year is fully electric. It’s a significant moment that shows how the landscape among UK van drivers is steadily shifting, with three of the vans in our top 10 now being battery powered.”
