Working with moving floor trailers, the tag axle trucks feature hydraulic wet kits and will be used to collect waste wood from customers nationwide, transporting it for processing into biomass fuel which is then delivered to power plants across the UK.
The latest arrivals are powered by ultra-efficient D13TC Euro-6 Step E engines, delivering 500hp and a peak torque of 2,800Nm.
Further fuel gains are provided by Volvo’s I-Shift automated gearbox technology, which constantly evaluates information such as speed, weight, road grade and torque demand to perfectly time each gear shift. Volvo’s predictive cruise control system, I-See, and I-Cruise with I-Roll are also included as part of the I-Save package.
Inside the Globetrotter XL cabs, Seras has ensured its hard-working drivers are well looked after. Creature comforts include electrically controlled air conditioning, dual armrests, an adjustable leather steering wheel with neck-tilt, an under bunk mounted 33-litre fridge freezer, plus plenty of rear cab upper storage.
The trucks all feature a modern dashboard with a fully digital 12-inch, high-resolution instrument display, DAB radio and navigation.
